FYI
There can be an issue if the kernel is not in the first 1024 cylinders, I
belive. The newer lilo is nsuppoed to have fixed that but I have not had to
deal with it, I always put a small, 25MB or so, partition at the front for my
/boot partition so I never have to deal with it. I don't know if the newer
lilo ships with the 7.x redhat distro. it did not with 6.2.
I suspect that if yur linux install does not start until 4GB into the disk then
this may be at least part of the problem. Perhaps some one with more knowledge
with chime in about now in case I have totally muddled the explaination.
