With the default RPM setup, when you install the source RPM, everything
goes into the /usr/src/redhat directory tree. The source file and
patches will go into SOURCES, the spec file goes into SPECS. When you
bo the bild process the source is untared into BUILD. What happens
after there depends on the spec file.
When the binary RPM is written out, it will end up in RPMS/<arch>. If
you use -ba the source RPM will end up in SRPMS,
