I have good experiences with Dell, and my own laptop (bought before I
started at Red Hat) is a Dell Inspiron 3500.
You can get Dell laptops with Red Hat Linux preinstalled (buying
preinstalled Linux boxes instead of ones with Windows (and then
uninstalling it) makes sure that hardware manufacturers continue to
see Linux as important)
