I have a small problem with my newly loaded Redhat 7 box. First off I have two CD-ROMS, a Yamaha CD burner (hdc) and an Asus 40x (hdd). hdc: YAMAHA CRW8824E, ATAPI CDROM drive hdd: ASUS CD-S500/A, ATAPI CDROM drive ide0 at 0x1f0-0x1f7,0x3f6 on irq 14 ide1 at 0x170-0x177,0x376 on irq 15 hda: ST320420A, 19458MB w/2048kB Cache, CHS=2480/255/63 hdb: ST317221A, 16446MB w/512kB Cache, CHS=2096/255/63 I don't burn CD's in Linux since I've had some problems with recompiling the kernel even though I've edited the Makefile and all of that, but that's a different story. To make a long story short, here is what is happening in my /var/log/messages every two seconds. About 1 hour of uptime, creates a 250kb file. I'm not sure of what is happening here. Does anyone know what would cause this. I can afford to disable the Yamaha (hdc) all together since I'm not actually using it and I have the other CD-ROM installed, but if I could fix this without doing that it would be better because I plan on getting the kernel compiled to support the burner soon.
