        Let me guess...  RedHat 7.0?  Right?

        RedHat 7 replaced inetd with xinetd.  The file /etc/inetd.conf
is replaced by the fileS in /etc/xinetd.d (?) with one file per program
instead of one file for everything.  Sooo...  "man xinetd" and go from
there.:-/
