I installed X on my server JUST to prevent a lot of this stuff.

After I switched to GnoRPM all this went away. Just do a RPM search, tell
GnoRPM which package you want, it checks the dependencies, tells you "look,
I need this that and the other, would you like me to grab these too?'. Bang.
Installs. Bob is your uncle.

I'm sure we're going to see a lot of 'Yeah but GnoRPM crashes for me' or 'it
can't do this' or somesuch, but the only point I'm making is it works great
for ME, and I encourage people to give it a go, as it saves me huge amounts
of time over finding dependencies etc.
