I just installed fisher today and at first I made a mistake and entered the
wrong details for my video card. The result was a problem with the graphic
mode. I then manually ran through a new X config and put in the proper
details of my video card (Diamond Viper V770D AGP), and away it went.
Works like a bomb. So, all I can offer is that maybe your details are not
quite right or rather not entered the way 'fisher' wants to see them? Maybe
try entering them in a different way. Maybe with spaces or something. It
worked for me..
Maybe just a new xconfig; done manually?
