I had this happen to me when I first upgraded. I had a Trident Blade video
card and even though it itially tested OK, subsequently the X server who
barf. check the values in XF86Config and/or re-run Xconfigurator. I never
did get the Blade running and installed a S3 video card then all was well.
BTW, my old RH6.2 worked just fine.
