It's an IDE 2-speed CD Writer.  The model is a CR-2801TE.  I haven't any
trouble reading data CDS or playing Audio CDs in it.
It's just strange the glitch is always in the first second of the tracks and
nowhere else.

Since cdda2wav worked much better than grip's internal ripper I spose I should
try cdparanoia and see if that works better.
