hiya - I'm getting lots of kernel: nfs: server xxx.xxx.xx.xx not responding, still trying kernel: nfs: server xxx.xxx.xx.xx OK type errors in my log files on the client machine both when trying to use a pentium 75 RH 6.2 box as an NFS server or an NFS client and copying over an 8mb file over 10base ethernet. I was originally using the pentium 75 machine as a server - and was getting those messages on the client - and copyiong the file was going treacle slow (5 to 10 kb per sec reported by iptraf) but when using the pentium 75 as a server and a celeron 350 as the server and the pentium 75 as a client I'm getting similarly poor speeds. I don't remember it always being this bad... can anyone suggest where this bottleneck may be... and whether this pentium 75 machine should be able to handle this sort of load (I would have thought so!) RH 6.2, all errata updates applied pentium 75, 38Mb RAM (24Mb used) tia, dan. _______________________________________________ Redhat-list mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://listman.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/redhat-list
