OK, here is the situation so far:
The lilo boot program was removed from the drive when Windoze was reloaded.
We can boot and run the rescue boot. We can mount the root partition
on a directory we created.
We can do:
/mntpnt/sbin/lilo -C /mntpnt/etc/lilo.conf
but lilo complains that it can't find /dev/hda1. How can that be, since
we mounted it using /dev/hda1? We did try to do a "fdisk /dev/hda" before
mounting it and that failed as well.
What exactly do we need to do to get the lilo boot sector rebuilt while in
rescue mode?
