Yes. All users logged into samba via the win clients have this problems. 
Different users, different machines, same results.

I've done that. I had set it to 2  for a while, and I didn't notice 
anything more that the same "permission error" message. I should double 
check that though for additional info.

Yes, and they can see their fileshares with no trouble while not being able 
to print.

Interesting. I have not tried either of these. I used read only = yes, 
because all the examples I looked at had it in there. Never realized there 
was a "force user" option. Possibly if this works I can just use force 
user=lp, since lp owns the print spools.

Thanks for the ideas, I'll try them out tomorrow.
