Greetings!
I just put Guiness on two machines, and I've noticed that when I come to the
systems after a long idle time, the load is right around 1. I have
xscreensaver running, but it's niced to 10. I also have DPMS turned on for
the X11 server (xset shows settings for the Screen Saver and DPMS as being
acrive).
This never happened before when I was running 6.1 on the system. I'm
concerned because it shouldn't be happening, and the machine will be more
efficient when it's sitting there at night in a sleeping state. No point in
wasting power...

No, my friend, the way to have good and safe government, is not to trust it
all to one, but to divide it among the many, distributing to every one exactly
the functions he is competent to. It is by dividing and subdividing these
republics from the national one down through all its subordinations, until it
ends in the administration of every man's farm by himself; by placing under
every one what his own eye may superintend, that all will be done for the
best.
