no surprise given i must execute "activate" via netcfg...

if you're referring to putting the network start line in /profile..? ..i
tried that and it seemed to lock up desktop from starting...
well all three checkout fine.......funny thing is..i have a boot
diskette i thought was 2.4.0 which is my kernel........well its
2.2.16-22 and when i used it to boot ,---eth0 came up and I didn't have
to do a thing just load netscape and away i went........
also i noticed that the onboard kernel isn't loading nls_ something or
other module but the 2.2.16-22 diskette is .... its in the
cat/proc/modules list when 2.2.16-22 is loaded...but 2.4.0 ( cat
/proc/modules ) only shows de4x5 and my sound module au8830.......
is this causing the grief?.. nls_*.* seems to be under FS in the prior
kernel and I checked 2.4.0 and i dont see anything there i forgot to
enable etc.etc...
hmm...
