someone just asked a similar question recently, is this a re-post??
Anyway, I'm not using RH7, I'm using RH6.2, and my Xpert98 is a PCI
not an AGP.
But, FWIW, I had no trouble at all getting it to work. My card has 8 megs
RAM on board (does yours?) and I've run it (with my now ancient Viewsonic
21) as high as 1600x1200x32bit color. Since the tube is showing its age,
I now run it at 1200x1024x32bit.
The trick is to buy/borrow/steal/calculate some suitable modelines which
accurately describe your monitor. I *assume* that's the trick... you don't
really say what the trouble is you're having trying to go above 800x600.
Is your monitor capable of doing that?
I was helped by finding the utility "modeline" which I was able to use
to calculate modelines close enough to get me started at high
resolutions. Once the display will come up in the mode you want, even if
imperfectly, you can then use xvidtune to tweak it. You'll need to do
a web search to find modeline, I don't seem to be able to find out
where its homepage is right at the moment.
Good luck!
