It's with the help of folks here that I could write this (and other) bash
script(s). So here's a contribution back at ya'll...

The attached file, 'fupdate' (file updater), is bash script which eases the
pain of tracking script revisions and helping to ensure you don't overwrite
a perfectly good script (or any other file, for that matter) with
dysfunctional edits you've made due to sleep (or pizza) deprivation.

For those that find the concept and script useful, great! I appreciate the
help I've received here.

For those who are learning to script and use ir'regular expressions' (should
those be single or double quotes? <g>), well, I learn by example and rtfm
when I have to -- my script is heavily documented -- if you also learn by
example, this might be a good learning tool. If you're among the more
learned and have suggestions for improvement, I welcome the feedback!

Enjoy!
