You say that maybe I need java40.jar in one of the above locations? OK..
I don't have it there but I do have java40.jar in :
/opt/netscape/java/classes. That is where I had netscape installed and
it works there ok but it is different from the directories you indicate..
Does it mean that we don't have a choice where we want to put Netscape?

This is where I used to have java40.jar installed. Not anymore..

OK.. Well I just copied java40.jar into $HOME/.netscape and now the netscape
error NO LONGER comes up! Wow. What a good feeling.
But I am sure this is NOT the real fix..

Well I just did that. I followed your directions as follows:
CLASSPATH=/opt/netscape/java/classes and then ran export CLASSPATH and
nothing came up..
Oooops. Mistake! I just ran $CLASSPATH and up came the path I installed. So,
that works but I took out java40.jar from my ./netscape directory and up came
that errror in netscape when I tried to run a video (using RealPlayer8).. It
still stays it can't find java40 in my CLASSPATH and shows me a number of
path statements which are no longer valid; one being a path to
/usr/lib/netscape. So, I wonder if I should re-install netscape? Or just
leave java40.jar in ./netscape? That works but a problem still exists? I
would like to get that fixed (somehow)..
