agreed with your entire post.....at this point wine is a necesssary evil but
its gotten alot better

there are many apps i wish i had access to in linux for all the reasons you
stated..linux is just better!!!!!

i miss:

TRUESPACE by caligari although i'm finding a suitable replace in "blender"
YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!
some GAMES ( not huge issue for me personally but....) there are a few
I really enjoy..starwars podracer for one :)LOL--hey i need my fun
too-ha!!---but thats coming along nicely as well........
QUICKEN ( works for most part but iffy at best in places and defiintely not
stable...)
MSACCESS ( although i'm told staroffice has killer database app that might
give solution )
PRINTARTIST ( needed for my business envelope etc.printing although i'm sure
I can do it with gimp )
SURETHING cd label maker as no mainstream app for linux yet believe it or
not.....at least NONE that do that actual cd label...that i know of :_""
ACID MUSIC by sonicfoundry--sorely missing a solid multi-track audio editor
for linux BUT there are big advances......broadcast 2000 does a okay job
though and i've been using it.......ardour is coming along nicely as well but
at moment doesn't work with all end-user cards and author freely admits it
wasn't done for that purposes perse.....

i deal with it.............i know linux is "going places" so i'm doing the
waiting game and dual booting only when absolutely necessary :)LOL

it isn't easy to use/setup except in the case of :
www.codeweavers.com

i found very simple and stright forward to get going.......

in the interim this is fine and great but as you say for serious full comp.
work (not 99.9-<g>) then something different may be necessary like win4lin
although i've never tried it........

we aint' seen notin yet :)
