Why did you choose such an ancient version? 7.0 was released months ago
and solves lots of problems.
Red Hat Linux 5.0 didn't have a usable interface for people who aren't
used to the Unix way of things - both KDE and GNOME appeared later than
that.

Compare Red Hat Linux 5.0 with MS Windows 3.0, it's from the same
timeframe.

In KDE or GNOME (both of which you'd have if you had picked a current
version), simply click on the floppy icon.
In a command prompt, type "mount /mnt/floppy" and access the floppy there.

In KDE or GNOME (both of which you'd have if you had picked a current
version), simply click on the floppy icon.
In a command prompt, type "cp filename /mnt/floppy" after mounting it.

In KDE or GNOME (both of which you'd have if you had picked a current
version), simply click on the CD-ROM icon.
In a command prompt, type "mount /mnt/cdrom" and access the CD there.

Yes.

Run kppp or rp3-config, both of which come with Red Hat Linux 6.x and 7.x.

Sure.

It's included with Red Hat Linux.
You have the choice between Netscape (you probably know that one), Mozilla
(but not with 5.0), Konqueror (not with 5.0), Lynx (text mode), Links
(text mode) and probably others.

Run sndconfig. If it doesn't detect your soundcard, update to a later
version. There's no way an OS from several years back could handle today's
hardware.

Two of them - KDE (http://www.kde.org/) and GNOME (http://www.gnome.org/).
Both are included with any recent version of Red Hat Linux.
Red Hat Linux 7 can be downloaded for free from
http://www.redhat.com/download/.
