 If you only want to use the 4 primary partitions instead of an extended 
partition containing multiple logical partitions, I would suggest you change 
the third partition to /var, and make a symlink from /tmp to /var/tmp.
 You could even put the swap partition first, thus increasing swap speed.
 If security is an issue you should consider using more partitions. Think of a 
chrooted DNS server, and maybe you even want to put data of different services 
on different partitions. You might want to use different partitions for /var 
and /tmp.
