Funky NIC?  I would swap the cards to try and isolate the problem.  If the
problem moves to the other machine I would be temped to replace it although
there might be some diagnostic stuff you can do to see if the eproms
contain the same data.  I don't know squat about 3-com cards.  Are they the
same revision and everything?
