John, you're thinking of the YOPY, made by Samsung.
They haven't gotten the bugs out of the software yet.
It was supposed to be ready by August, then November,
now "year end" --I wouldn't hold my breath waiting
for it, if I were you.  It looks, and is intended to
act, much like the Ipaq from Compaq.  Do a search for
YOPY on Google and there's lots of urls, but no
for sale's!

There's supposed to be a linux-based PDA available by this time... I
know I saw it last year about this time and they said it was going to
be available here in the US about mid-summer, I think... other than
that, a Palm or a Handspring would be my suggestion. There's software
to sync the palm/handspring (both use the Palm OS).
