2GB is the standard file size limit. Note the signed integer (who's upper
limit matches). There's prolly a patch for 2.2.x out there somewhere. A
lot of the "I wish they had this for 2.2" things do have patches.. but
finding them isn't always easy. When you patch a kernel with something
major like this, you quite often have to recompile user space programs
against the new kernel headers or else you'll not going to have much luck
;)
