what's this new bash feature?

After updating bash per the errata, I get this:

[root@server lee]# echo hello
echo hello                              <----<<
hello
[root@server lee]# rpm -q bash
rpm -q bash                             <----<<
bash-1.14.7-23.6x
[root@server lee]#

How do I make that obnoxious echoing stop?
