I want to compile perl-5.6.0 on a new partition. Everything seems to be
ok except that during configuration/compilation the following
warning appeared :-

perl: warning: Setting locale failed.
perl: warning: Please check that your locale settings:
LANGUAGE = (unset),
LC_ALL = (unset),
LANG = "en_US"
are supported and installed on your system.
perl: warning: Falling back to the standard locale ("C").

How can I set the locale? Thanks alot.
