FWIW, I removed my printer using printtool, uninstalled the printtool and rhs-printfilters RPMs and then deleted the /var/spool/lpd and /usr/lib/rhs/rhs-printfilters directories. Next I reinstalled printtool and the rhs-printfilters RPMs from scratch and finally recreated my printer. After I did all this the printer is handling PS correctly. I suspect something was left over from RH6.2 which didn't quite work with RH7.0. All is well now.

I recently upgraded from RH6.2 to RH7.0 and since that time have been unable
to get my printer (an Epson Stylus 850ne which according to printtool is
using the stc800ih, Stylus Color 800, 1440x720DpI, Inkjet Paper input filter)
to print postscript. It treats postscript as if it were a text file. I
thought I saw another post along these lines, but never did see an answer.
Has anyone else had this happen and if so what was needed to fix it?<snip>
