The attached perl script should do what you need.
As far as Majordomo is concerned, the problem is likely that your version
of sendmail runs in a restricted shell (SendMail Restricted Shell -- smrsh).
Any scripts that are to be run from /etc/aliases need to be placed in
/etc/smrsh for sendmail to run them.
