Just a guess but I think that APM message may have something to do with BIOS
not haveing the Advanced Power Management function. You may just want to
shut down apmd. Though it probably never fired up since it could not find
any Power management functions in BIOS. What kind of card was this? May want
to check hardward compatibility list. I'd venture to guess though that it is
trying to hit one of those IRQ's that are listed in your /proc/interrupts
which is already taken. I have not run into this to much other than problems
with getting a 3C509 (ISA) running. Had to use software off of 3com website
to allow me to change the interrupt it wants to use. You don't remember by
chance what it was using with windoze? When the machine boots does BIOS
report the hardware and what IRQ they occupy? If all else fails those ISA
NIC's are pretty cheap. Hopefully someone else may have ran into this and
can give some more detail than I have.
