Yes, since you are using TCPWrappers. You can also remove the TCPWrappers
line from inetd.conf for that particular service.

which seems to indicate that the pop3 request is making it through my
firewall,
but that the daemon is refusing to accept it. Do I need to add something to
my
hosts.allow file to allow the connection, and if so, what?
