You can find very good directions in the INSTALL file that is included with
the PHP4 source. Have you read that file yet?

Have apache 1.3.14 running and want to include php4. I
have done the "make" and "make install" of PHP4 and am
trying to add to apache.
I have the following from the apache README
./configure --prefix=../apache \
-activate-module=src/modules/php4/libphp3.a
Now I am trying php4 and in the src/modules/php4
subdirectory of apache_1.3.14 are the following *.a files
libmodhp4.a [NOTE: tried this and the make gave
many errors!]
Also is the file
libphp4.module
Which of these, or should I look elsewhere, should I
substitute for the libphp3.a above from the apache
information in the tarball?
