Howdy,

I know I've asked this question before, but I can't find it in my archives.

I have this situation:

My Co-workers and I all vnc to our RH 6.2 server and do most of our work on it that
way. The problem is that our xserver, or something related to it won't let us start
any x apps from an xterm with "appname &". Always before I was able to fix that with
xhost, but this time it seems to be something besides xhost that's stopping it. Here's
some sample errors:

        [root@garnet /root]# ktop &
        [1] 30346
[root@garnet /root]# Xlib: connection to "garnet:7.0" refused by server
Xlib: Client is not authorized to connect to Server
ktop: cannot connect to X server garnet:7.0

(BTW it's garnet:7.0 because of vnc)
Usually this only happens with root, but sometimes it happens when I we try to do it
in any xterm, su'd or not.

Does anyone have an idea what this is, and what I need to do to fix it?

Thanks,

        JW
