If you aren't in the mood, ignore this message (I don't want to hear
anyone's complaints.. if you aren't up for one of my rants, delete this
message now):
No offense to anyone, but I've been seeing too much of this going on: I'm
not blaming people for trying different methods of getting off of a
mailing list (as different list servers use different protocols
(methods)), but can we at least spell check the important parts of the
messages we send (referring below)? This goes for subjects of any message
for that matter. Also, usually you use the same method which you
subscribed to a list, in order to unsubscribe from the same list (ie. if
you put "subscribe" in the subject to subscribe, then you put
"unsubscribe" in the subject to unsubscribe).
I'm only speaking my peace about this because I see too many spelling
errors when it comes to important parts of emails, etc. When you're
issuing a command, you should spell check it first. Okay, so we're not
talking about accidentally starting a war with some other country.. but
it's an email to get you off of a list which generates lots of email.. and
when people aren't removed from the list on the first try (not even
mentioning that they may have screwed up the process), they get angry.
So in closing, review your actions before you take them.. it will save a
lot of anger and stuff (it helps to research how to do something
before you try it) :)
Once again.. no offense to anyone (esp. Mark, who's message I chose to use
as an example) ;)
