I am trying to make a backup of an entire drive
to a compressed file. Here is what I have
tried, but it fails:
dd if=/dev/hda | gzip test.gz
Now, I know I am missing something here. Someone
on this list gave me the exact way to do this
a few years ago, but I lost the documentation.
BTW... are there any good online resources about
pipes, redirection, etc...?
