Bryan,
If you want to use more then 3 parallel ports, you are going to
have to modify lp.c - look for:
/* if you have more than 3 printers, remember to increase LP_NO */
#define LP_NO 3
You will also want to look at using PCI cards, instead of ISA
cards. You will also want to look into tunelp to speed up the printing,
and reduce system load.
Another option would be to use an ethernet print server, with
your server box doing spooling. It depends on if you need a
bi-directional port for the printer.
