Nope, Luke's suggestion won't work.

The reason why you can't use NetMeeting through a firewall (warning: second-
hand experience, YMMV) is because the NetMeeting client includes its host's
IP address in the _data_ portion of the traffic, rather than just letting 
TCP/IP do its job.  Server uses that address, rather than the one in the 
actual packet headers, to respond to the client.  In a masqueraded environment,
this causes problems since the client's IP is usually a "fake" one, or at least
not reachable from the outside world.  So you log in, get connected, and never
actually see any of the traffic coming back from the other end.

Or something like that.

Anyhow "just open the ports" is a pretty naive solution to a lot of not-quite-
standard networking situations like this, and shouldn't generally be necessary
anyway if NAT is working properly.

If anybody has a suggestion for something that will work (and which is cross-
platform compatible), I'd love to hear it too.
