For an extremely basic install, you might get away with only disc1. The
installer doesn't tell you what requires disc2, so unless you want to do
some careful manual planning yourself, you should get disc2 just in case
There is nothing worse than being 90% through an upgrade only to be
told you need disc2 and not have disc2 -- believe me ... I am speaking
from experience :(.
