Hi.

This is a general question:

I've got a GPL'ed open source project that is enjoying success amongst users
as a useful development tool. Many people have suggested to me that it should
be included into a distribution. Some people packaging it for Debian have
contacted me so I guess it might show up there in the future.

I was wondering, how do I bring my package to RedHat's attention? How does
RedHat select packages that go into their distribution? What are their
criteria, how do they find out about new packages, who takes care of this and
what is their process?

Is there a way to include it in their "contrib" section/cd? If so, how do I do
this? I've looked everywhere on redhat.com and couldn't find anything for
developers about how to propose it.

In case you're wondering, the tool I'm talking about is a file/directory
comparison and merge tool called xxdiff (http://xxdiff.sourceforge.net). The
only major dependency is on the Qt library, which is now GPL'ed as of v2.2.

Cheers,
