And by 'systems' Jason means computers or hosts.  Although you asked about 
fundamental differences, the two terms describe similar jobs as a sys admin 
must know something about networks and a net admin usually knows something 
about systems.  In many contexts, the net admin is a "higher level" 
position than sys admin.  A system admin often spends a lot of his time 
with user issues "How do I log in" whereas a network admin's "users" may 
well be system admins. Although not always.
