I gave http://www.cs.utexas.edu/users/kharker/linux-laptop/ a quick look
to see if anyone had managed this install before. Looks like the closest is
a Sony Viao PCG-SR1K. It had internals to nearly match yours, though I
think a different ethernet card. It's a good website by the way... I can't
think of how to reassign the irq's myself really. But you can tell the
ethernet card to use an available irq instead of irq 10. Thats just a
parameter to pass while loading the module. I'll drag out a book or two
here... You will need to edit conf.modules again. after the module name,
you need to type in io=0x300 irq=X ( X being a free irq.) That should
direct the card to the right irq. You'll have to avoid these irq's I'd guess
as they were in the ISA list: 3,4,5,7,10,11,12,15 and of course any that are
shown to be in use in /proc/interrupts. I hope this helps you. If not,
perhaps someone else will pipe up with more to say. I'll do a bit of
reading about those ISA irq's though.. Good luck.
