Thanks Tobias for the comments but the email was screwed up on delievery
and i couldn't get all of it to display. I will send this again and hope
that you or someone can help.
The two files in the directories that I created, /pci56/linux/src/module
are makefile and ptmodule.c ..
The modem installation instructions say "make" in that directory and the
message I get is, "gcc -D__kernel__ _dmodule -wall -o -fomit
-frame-pointers
-I../../include -c -o
ptmodule.o ptmodule.c make:gcc: command not found
make:*** [ptmodule.o] error 127"

Any ideas anyone. This modem is turning out to be a bit of a bother and if
it was heavier I would use it as a mooring for the boat !!!!

Regards,
Starn Johansen
