I don't believe RH would take draconian measures to block all access to updates 
except from those who pay.  And yes, they've had a CD update service for a fee, 
as well as a charge for the online automated update after the initial free 
period, already in place for a while.

Maybe _I'm_ over-reacting, but they seem so have a major PR gaff in the making 
if they don't get an accurate and complete announcement out ASAP.  I couldn't 
find any announcement on their web site.  Anyone else find one?

If you've wasted your time reading any of the comments on the articles like I 
did (on sites such as the ZDNet one), rumors and wild speculation abound -- 
especially from those that probably like to throw darts at Linux anyway.  Maybe 
that handful of online comments is meaningless, but public perception is a huge 
part of the success of any business.

Hopefully, someone at RedHat responsible for public relations is feverishly at 
work generating a detailed announcement and clarification.  Anyone at RedHat 
listening?
