Er I disagree with you there.

What you are saying is "technically" correct but when you get someone who 
comes to you and asks if you can host their ASP pages 99.9% of the time they 
mean VBScript or JScript.
The difference between common usage and specification is something that 
escapes most people...If they have to recode their web pages in another 
script language then that would not be viewed as "ASP" to them.

Exactly!  Why use Perl when you have PHP?  PHP was BUILT for web scripting 
and Perl kinda grew that way over time...

Anyway let's not start a Perl/PHP war here *grin*
