Yes, and if this computer is going to be directly
connected to the internet, you should see about
replacing telnet with 'ssh' www.openssh.com (?).
FTP servers have received quite a lot of scrutiny
lately. It seems that no particular version of wu-ftpd
is safe due to things like 'buffer overruns' and such.
If you plan on publicly offering a ftp service even
only from time to time... The only thing I can think of
to do, is upgrade the ftp server package to the latest
rpm available and run the following from your CLI:
su -c 'echo "greeting terse" >> /etc/ftpaccess'
That way, if you do get a benevolent visitor they won't
be armed with your ftp server's version info. Every
little bit helps, right?
