Check you log files in /var/log and see if you are getting error messages
in one of them. Log files are not cached, but are written to disk
everytime something is written to them. This is so that you have as
complete logs as possible in case of a crash. Maybe the Amateur Radio
software is logging something, especialy if it is running, but not
configured properly. The first place I would look if /var/log/messages.
Let us know what you find.
