Weird. Try doing a "custom" (install everything but the
kitchen sink) install and leave out ONLY the foreign
language stuff (what little there is of it.) and see if it
works that way. For the longest time I had a Kingston PCI
nic with a DEC chipset and it worked just fine out of the
install and I did my normal "custom -- install everything"
setup.
