Doesn't it? Worked fine here. The auto-generated XF86Config file only had:
Section "Files"
FontPath "unix/:7100"
EndSection
in it, and I thought I'd had to add the rest of the fontpaths manually, but
the /etc/X11/fs/config file had all the paths listed.
