There must be a trick somewhere, but I don't get it.
RH 6.2 -- I'm trying to follow the linuxdoc.org mini-howto for
home-networking. I've downloaded the latest versions of bind, dhcpd and
caching-nameserver; all are in /tmp. Bind appears to install correctly from
the shell, but is listed as 'not-installed' in the Gnome RPM manager (I
rebuit the db) and named is not anywhere to be found. If I uninstall bind
and then try to reinstall from Gnome, I can click on that bloody install
button a thousand times and nothing at all happens. caching-nameserver won't
install because it needs bind. dhcpd also appears to install, but, although
dhcpd appears in /etc, there is no dhcpd.conf anywhere to be found.
