the only problem i have run across so far is /proc. there are symlinks that
i think might give me trouble.
like /proc/self/root>/ and stuff.

Q: will the symlinks be rewritten/readded when i change the / partition from
(/dev/hda5) the present / to the new (/dev/hdc1) / ?

just to let you all know, im doing this because the old /dev/hda is slow and
has a max xfer rate of
8MB/s when i do a hdparm -Tt /dev/hda and the new /dev/hdc gives me 16MB/s
and i think that the 16MB/s would run a lot better and faster.

and one other small note. when i do do the hdparm -Tt /dev/hd* for some
reason the buffered cache reads are stuck at 53.06MB/s on All of my hds and
before when i had my old motherboard all my hd's had different rates(went
from an ali chipset to a via chipset)

Q: anyone know why the rates would have a cap on them for the buffered
cache?(yes the kernel has the via patch)

thank you
eric
