BC>Hi everyone.
BC>
BC>I am brand new to RH and Linux. I just did an install of RH 6.1 on a new
BC>Dell. I have problems with the sound card. I went to the mail server
BC>archives and got some answers. The Montego cards needs the new drivers
BC>from aureal. So I downloaded them using win98. I copied the file (a
BC>tar.zip file) on a floppy and tried to have it read by Linux. No go. I
BC>get an error. I finally found how to format a floppy in Linux thinking
BC>it would be read by Win 98 but no go.
BC>
BC>So how do I exchange files between Win and Linux on floppies??!!
BC>
BC>I don't have a network access and I am still trying to configure my ppp
BC>connection (modem busy! Any help there would be greatly appreciated).
BC>
BC>Also I changed the perms to the /dev/mixer (as root) but when I log
BC>back-in as root or another user the perms are gone! Hugh?! Can anyone
BC>explain that to me.
BC>
BC>Thanks for any and all help.

Format the floppy on Windoze.
Copy the file to the floppy.
Boot Linux.
In your home directory type the following:

mcopy a:* .

Then type: ls

Voila! It's magic... :-)
