What did memtest tell you? How many times did you let it pass through its
tests?

That's almost certainly a memory error. It could be in your L2 cache if
it's not in your main memory. At this point you should have the hardware
diagnosed by a professional. Make sure you get a good explaination of
their testing proceedures. There's a lot of technicians whose _only_
qualification is that they can replace parts. Sorry if that souns like a
rant, but some of my friends (where I don't live) have been getting
terrible service from a number of shops. : (
